LOMAX MAGNET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - ADDITION & RENOVATION
APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 - $387,109.76 NET CREDIT

This project was planned by the firm of Carruthers & Associates Architects P.A. On March 12, 2002, the Board appointed the construction management firm of S.L. Construction & Remodeling, Inc. The scope of work includes the addition of eight primary, one kindergarten, one art, and one music classroom, and a physical education office, each with associated support spaces. It also includes an exterior canopy connecting the addition to adjacent buildings, enclosure of the dumpster, signage, a storm water management system, landscape and irrigation of the area between Building 1 and the addition, and a new play court, bus drop-off/pick-up area, and staff parking lot. First floor restrooms will be remodeled and classroom restrooms will be renovated. Interior walls and ceilings affected by selective demolition will be painted. Interior electrical power, lighting panels, lighting system, marker boards, tack boards, HVAC systems, and acoustical ceilings will be replaced, and new data, fire alarm, telephone, intercom, and security systems will be provided.

This change order provides for the final reconciliation of the Direct Purchase and Owner Controlled Insurance Programs. It also provides for water intrusion remediation caused during hurricane season.

Critical Success Factor 6.a.8 - Provide sufficient student stations to ensure uninterrupted student learning and data gathering as measured by District Operational Goals plan.
