2005-2006 Senior Graduation Survey Results

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Senior Graduation Survey is administered annually at the end of each school year. The survey was developed jointly by the Guidance Department and the Department of Assessment and Accountability. The student responses indicate that approximately 80% of male and 89% of females plan to attend a college, university or technical school after graduation. Most of these students, 76% male and 79% female, have applied to a post-secondary institution and over 80% of these students have been accepted. When the data was analyzed by ethnicity, 85% White, 83% Black, 83% Hispanic, 93% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 83% of students who designated themselves as “other,” planned to attend a post-secondary institution. Of this group, 69% to 88% have applied and 74% to 88% of these students have been accepted. Of the students who applied and have been accepted, most (94.7%) intend to remain in Florida.
