Recognition of United Way of Tampa Bay and A Gift for Teaching (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The United Way of Tampa Bay sponsored a corporate book drive during the summer that culminated on August 24th. The books were transported to the A Gift for Teaching facility, the United Way's partner in this initiative, where they were examined and sorted in preparation for distribution to 22 Title 1 elementary school sites. The goal is to provide each student at the designated sites with two or three free books for their personal home library.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 1 - The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) reading will increase a minimum or 5 percentage points.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
There is no financial impact to the district.
