PROPOSED HIGH SCHOOL "UUU"
APPROVAL OF PURCHASE PRICE
FOR A 34.29+/- ACRE PLANT CITY AREA SITE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

School District staff has successfully appraised and negotiated for the purchase of property for a high school site in the Plant City area. The site consists of 34.29 +/- acres and is part of a three site assemblage located on the north and south sides of Newsome Road and the west side of Gallagher Road, at the southeast quadrant of the Interstate-4 and McIntosh Road Interchange. The property has been appraised to establish fair market value at $3,600,000 and $3,770,000 respectively, and the District has negotiated the purchase price at $3,770,000.

This new high school site will relieve Plant City, Durant and Armwood High Schools with an anticipated opening for the school year 2009-2110.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 6 - All schools in the District will be assigned a state grade of A, B, or C.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funds in the amount not to exceed $3,770,000 will be derived from the Two Mill Capital Outlay Budget.
