ORANGE GROVE MIDDLE SCHOOL
RENOVATION
APPROVAL OF DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On April 4, 2006, the Board approved the appointment of Atelier AEC, Inc. for architectural services. The scope of renovation provides for new finishes throughout the facility, restoration of wood flooring, replacement of lighting, interior stairs, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, upgrades to intercom, data, and security systems, and toilet facilities to provide Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accessibility. Exterior work includes cleaning, repointing, and sealing of all brick work, new cafeteria patio cover, and roof replacement for the classroom building, cafeteria and second story walkways.

Approval of the design development phase will allow the architect to proceed with construction documents. Project completion is scheduled for December 2007.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 6 - All schools in the district will be assigned a state grade of A, B, or C.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The project is currently funded at $3,496,000. The estimate of probable cost is $2,754,974. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: 2 Mill.
