ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Cahoon Elementary School completed a renovation and remodeling project which was accepted in October 2004. Additional funding was identified to provide needed improvements not included in the original scope of work. Existing agreements with Carruthers & Associates Architects P. A. and R. J. Bunbury Company, Inc. were amended to perform this work. The scope of work included administration renovations, replacement of heating, ventilating and air conditioning, lighting in Buildings 11, 12, and 13, site and drainage improvements, and other minor renovations.

Change Order No. 1 provided for additions to project scope for previously deleted work. It also provided for exterior painting of the Media Center, and for range installation modifications in the Head Start Classroom. A time extension was included for completion of the work. Change Order No. 2 provides a credit for final adjustment to the Direct Purchase Program. Change Order No. 3 provides credits for project savings and the return of unused contingency funds. The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
