Approve Donation of Surplus Used Athletic Uniforms to Louisiana Interscholastic Athlete Association, New Orleans, Louisiana (Curriculum and Instruction)

The Louisiana Interscholastic Athletic Association has expressed a need for athletic uniforms for schools affected by Hurricane Katrina. The Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association has issued a statewide request for districts to participate in this assistance effort.

The Hillsborough District Athletic Guidebook of Procedures, Article 12-3-1, states that athletic equipment is not to be given away. Approval of this agenda item will allow our district high schools athletics department heads to identify surplus used uniforms that are appropriate for donation to Louisiana schools.

All District Goals and Critical Success Factors

There is no additional cost to the district. If approved, the Director of Athletics would transport any donated uniform to the next Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association meeting.
