SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Technical Services Agreement Between the School District of Hillsborough County, Florida and Saber of Columbus, Ohio (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

By virtue of this agreement, Saber will build a new server with standard data migration for the Early Childhood School Readiness Programs’ Enhanced Field System (EFS) database which contains pertinent data for the implementation of said program. Approximately 11,250 children from low-income families receive child care through this program. The new server build includes on-site installation, data transfer from the old server to the new one, and system administration training. The term of the Agreement is February 14, 2007, to June 30, 2007.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total of $11,200 is federal/state funding originating with the Agency for Workforce Innovation Office of Early Learning flowing through Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc., doing business as The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County and passed to the Hillsborough County Public Schools to finance the School Readiness Program which provides early education and child care for approximately 11,250 children from eligible low-income families. Saber has been chosen by the State of Florida as the sole source vendor for School Readiness Program technical services, therefore, is the only vendor approved to perform such services for School Readiness Programs throughout the state.

EVALUATION

This contract is reflected in the year-end financial statements which are audited annually by the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc. as prescribed by law. The Board will receive the audit reports when they are completed. The time of completion will vary based upon the activities of the auditors.
