SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Agreement for Contracted Services Between the Center for Technology and Education and the ESOL Online Consortium for ESOL Online Courses, 2006/2007 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Online Consortium membership consists of Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Seminole School Districts. Members of the ESOL Online Consortium may purchase services from the Center for Technology and Education for delivery of ESOL courses. The Center offers ESOL online courses statewide for teachers to meet state professional development requirements. Approval to purchase services through the consortium at a cost of $600 for one year enables the district to provide these required online courses to our teachers at no cost to the participant.

This Agreement for Contracted Services, implemented as of August 1, 2006, is being submitted for approval by the participating school boards in March 2007. The agreement between the Consortium members and the Center for Technology and Education establishes the procedures, utilization, delivery of services, and documents the fee schedule required for non-consortia members who will contract independently with the Center.
