On July 11, 2006, the School Board approved a grant application to Workforce Florida, Inc. for $65,000 for Quick Response Training for 200 new hires at the Ford Motor Credit Company facility located in Sabal Park. Ford Motor Credit Company has increased its projected number of new hires by 175 for a total of 375 that requires additional grant funds of $145,578 for a revised grant total of $210,578.

Approval to submit revised grant application to Workforce Florida, Inc. is requested, and if approved, to accept grant funds for Aparicio-Levy Technical Center to provide specialized training for Ford Motor Credit Company positions in loan servicing, accounting, and account administration. The Quick Response training programs provide valuable assistance to new and relocating businesses to ensure a trained and effective workforce.

If approved, grant funds of $210,578 will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget for Ford Motor Credit Company training costs. This budget includes $10,028 for district administrative costs. This agenda item has no additional cost to the district.

May 2009 - Performance evaluation measures are determined by Workforce Florida, Inc. The performance report wil be completed by the end of the 24-month period that the grant covers. The results of the evaluation will be shared with all stakeholders.
