Approve the Agreement for Technical Services for Dr. Terry Alderman, Resources for Professionals, to Provide Support to the Teachers at E. E. Just and B.T. Washington Elementary Schools in the Areas of Classroom and School-wide Behavior Management (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

This contract is a collaboration between Hillsborough County Public Schools and Panhandle Area Educational Consortium. It will provide the services of Dr. Terry Alderman for five days at E. E. Just and B. T. Washington Elementary Schools to observe, mentor, coach and provide comprehensive written and oral feedback in the areas of classroom and school-wide behavior management. Dr. Alderman will support the implementation and consistent maintenance of effective behavior management strategies. The Panhandle Area Educational Consortium, which was created to partner with school districts in Florida to address their specific needs, will be reimbursing the District for 100% of the cost of Dr. Alderman’s services.

Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of ten percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The amount of $8,000 will be funded from Title I funds. One hundred percent (100%) of the costs will be reimbursed by the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium.

By June 30, 2007, a comprehensive survey will be done at participating sites to determine if Dr. Alderman’s strategies and coaching contributed to a reduction in discipline referrals. This survey will be shared with Dr. Alderman and the Hillsborough County School Board and will assist the District in considering future contracts.
