EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Tampa Bay Partnership is an organization that works with its members to market the region nationally and internationally. They conduct regional research and coordinate efforts that influence business and government issues impacting economic growth and development. Membership includes approximately 150 private and public organizations. For example, the University of South Florida, whose President is the current Chair, the Tampa Port Authority, Eckerd College, and the City of Tampa are members. The partnership’s cornerstones are issues that matter most to the region. They include building a higher wage, more skilled workforce, providing top-notch education, and creating smart growth. Participation as a Board member in this organization, that includes most of the major businesses and governments in the Tampa Bay area, will strengthen the ties between the School Board and the business community, as well as improve communication, and enhance support for the priorities of the Board.
