Recognition of Two Freedom High School Students for Art Awards (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Two Freedom High School students have received prestigious awards for artwork submitted for national competitions:

"Next Generation Artistic Discovery" competition is sponsored by the 11th Congressional District. This artwork was exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art and won Best of Show out of 150 entries. This student will be a representative at the national level and will be recognized at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Washington, DC on June 28, 2007. Her artwork will be on display for one year in Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol Building.

"Federal Duck Stamp Competition" - This competition is sponsored by the United States Department of the Interior and 1,500 entries were submitted for Florida. This student placed first in the state of Florida and his artwork represented Hillsborough County Public Schools in the national competition on April 27, 2007.
