Evaluation of Amendment #2 of the Contract with Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On May 16, 2006, the School Board approved Agenda Item E5.03 with Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options to deliver inclusion training and technical assistance to child care personnel, licensed family child care home operators, and licensed or license exempt child care center operators July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006. Amendment #2 reduced budget for salaries by $11,000 due to the efficient collaborative efforts of Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options with other community agencies in providing these inclusion services to child care providers. The 2005-2006 Monitoring Report for the Hillsborough County School Readiness Program is the evaluation tool for the contract with Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options which is attached along with our letter of response. Because no finding regarding this contract is cited in the monitoring report, performance is considered satisfactory.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The district will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total funding of $45,000 was reduced by $11,000, making the modified budget total $34,000. The $11,000 was reallocated to cover additional inclusion services performed by the Early Childhood School Readiness Programs, as authorized by the funder. The federal/state funds are channeled from the State of Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, Office of Early Learning to the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc., doing business as the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County and ultimately to Hillsborough County Public Schools, School Readiness Programs. No district funds were part of this contract.

EVALUATION

No evaluation will be conducted due to contract cancellation.
