Approve Agreements for Technical Services with Terry Klaaren for Artwork at Cahoon Elementary Magnet School and Rampello K-8 Magnet School - $6,700 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Agreements for Technical Services have been developed for Terry Klaaren, a local exhibiting artist, to develop murals for summer camp programs at Cahoon Elementary Magnet School and Rampello K-8 Magnet School. The murals will be developed on-site and will reflect the school's magnet theme. The artist will involve the staff and students in the research, design, and preparation of the murals as part of the instructional activities for the camp.
We are requesting approval of the following Agreements for Technical Services with artist Terry Klaaren:
Cahoon - June 6-15, 2007 - $4,200 - Provide sketches, materials, and conduct student interaction lesson activities to complete three murals that will illustrate Animal Sciences principles.
Rampello K-8 - July 9-13, 2007 - $2,500 - Provide sketches, materials, and conduct interactive lesson activities to complete four murals that will illustrate Cultural Arts and Humanities.
The summer camps are designed to enhance student academics using the magnet theme and are part of the strategies to engage and retain magnet students.

Funds of $6,700 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget through the Magnet Grant, Project 1222.
