Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Elizabeth Glenn to Develop an Online Course for Elementary Mathematics - $1,500 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We are requesting approval of the Agreement for Technical Services with Elizabeth Glenn, a retired district resource teacher, to develop a 36-hour online course incorporating online communication, video lesson study, and print media. The content of the course will focus on Geometry and Measurement concepts as they are defined by our newly revised Mathematics Sunshine State Standards. Her responsibilities include the following:

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 2 - The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT mathematics will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funds of $1,500 are included in the departmental budget for Elementary Education, Project 6064.

EVALUATION

May 2008. 2008 FCAT mathematics scores for students of participants will be analyzed to determine effectiveness of training.
