EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On January 16, 2007, the School Board approved an Interlocal Agreement with Hillsborough County calling for the School Board to construct an extension of Citrus Park Drive and connect to the driveway that will provide access to Deer Park Elementary School. Deer Park is scheduled for opening in August 2007. The purpose of the agreement, subsequently approved by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners on February 7, 2007, is to ensure that the road construction will be completed at the time of the school opening. The agreement called for Hillsborough County to reimburse the School District for all costs associated with the construction of the road. At the time the agreement was approved, the cost estimate for the project was $1,241,002 based on 90% complete plans. However, when the final plans were completed, it was agreed by both Hillsborough County and School District staff that the estimated cost of the improvement would be $1,364,985, a difference of $123,983. Therefore, it is necessary to amend the original agreement to establish that Hillsborough County will agree to reimburse the School District $1,364,002 upon completion of the road construction project.
