Approve Renewal Memorandum of Agreement with Hillsborough County Health Department for Comprehensive Grant Dollars - July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008 - $652,440 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This renewal Memorandum of Agreement provides the School Board with thirteen (13) registered nurses to work in schools under direct supervision of the Supervisor of School Health Services in accordance with the State of Florida Best Practices Guidelines. The supervisor will be responsible for hiring and evaluating the nurses hired under this program. These registered nurses are paid by the Health Department and by the Health Department’s salary and fringe schedules. The nurses are paid $172 per day for 211 days with an annual fringe of $9,435 (26%) to total $45,727. The total combined salary for all 13 nurses would be $594,441. The balance of $57,999 will be used for training and vicinity travel from site to site.

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
$652,440 – Federal Title XXI dollars are provided by the County Health Department.
EVALUATION
The annual report and plan are submitted to the Department of Health in September. Data is collected from monthly reports submitted by school nurses.
