SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Memorandum Agreement with the Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office, Inc. (DACCO, Inc.) (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office (DACCO, Inc.) and the School District enter this agreement to provide a program of substance abuse prevention services at select middle and high schools. This program is known as the New Directions Substance Abuse Prevention Program. Agency services will include group and individual counseling. The Director of Guidance Services and the Supervisor of School Social Work Services will meet with the agency staff from DACCO to select the schools where these services will be located.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The District provides office space at the assigned schools. Approximate in-kind support from the district for this space and custodial support is $40,000 per year.

EVALUATION

Program services will be evaluated at least twice a year. This joint management team will review quarterly and annual outcome data on all clients served. Input will also be solicited from the administrators of the participating schools.
