Approve Partnership Agreements with Chick-fil-A and Huddle Inc. for Production of Athletic Tickets and Student Athletic Scholarships, 2007/2008

We are requesting approval of the partnership agreements with Chick-fil-A and Huddle, Inc. (representative for Dick’s Sporting Goods). The agreements stipulate that Chick-fil-A and Huddle, Inc. will pay the production costs for all sporting event tickets for the District for the 2007/2008 school year. In return, both the Chick-fil-A and Huddle, Inc. logo(s) and/or coupon will appear on the back of each ticket produced.

In addition, each company will provide a $500 scholarship for each high school in the District for a total of $1,000 per school. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female athlete from each school. Scholarship winners will be selected by a school-based committee based on established criteria including, but not limited to, SAT test scores, GPA, and years of participation in sports.

Both Chick-fil-A and Huddle, Inc. may provide one (1) 3' x 5' banner to be displayed at the sport event site.

These partnerships will provide a cost savings of $3,000 in ticket purchase costs and will generate $25,000 in high school scholarships for athletes.

The contracts have been approved by the School Board attorney.

May 2008. The Director of Athletics will review all aspects of the agreements with the Assistant Principals for Administration and the companies to determine if future agreements will benefit the District and the students.
