Approve Contractual Agreement with Carlton Palms Educational Center, Inc., for an Autism Spectrum Disorder Student, July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008 - $20,925.81 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking to place an 18-year-old student (A.W.) with a primary exceptionality of Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Carlton Palms Educational Center, Inc., for services due to significant behavior/physical control problems. The primary emphasis of this placement is comprehensive assessment and the development of effective behavior management strategies. This placement is projected for the 2007/2008 school year.

The District is responsible for the assurance of the provision of exceptional student education services for the duration of this placement. The FTE generated for the 2007/2008 school year has been calculated based on the Base Student Allocation for Hillsborough County and the Matrix of Services developed for the student.
