On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Holmes Hepner and Associates Architects and J.O. DeLotto & Sons, Inc. to provide design and construction management services for classroom additions at various schools. The architectural agreement for the classroom additions at Burnett Middle School, Riverview High School, Rodgers Middle School, and Wharton High School and the construction management agreement for the classroom additions at Bartels and Burnett Middle Schools, Clark Elementary School, and Wharton High School are being amended to include the summer painting and flooring maintenance projects at Burnett Middle School and Lithia Springs Elementary School. The scope of work for Burnett includes interior and exterior painting and flooring replacement. The scope of work for Lithia Springs includes installation of vinyl composition tile (VCT) in all currently carpeted classrooms, replacement of carpet in remaining carpeted areas, repainting of exterior and interior of school, and repairing of precast concrete on exterior of school.

Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for each project. Completion is scheduled for August 1, 2007.

Construction cost for Burnett Middle School is warranted at $310,511. The construction budget is $310,511. Construction cost for Lithia Springs Elementary School is warranted at $255,174. The construction budget is $255,174. These items are included in the District Capital Outlay: Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance (Burnett) and 2 Mills (Lithia Springs).
