EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project was planned by the architectural firm of Ruyle Masters Hayes + Jennewein Architects. On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Heery International, Inc. The scope of work provided for campus-wide replacement of the electrical distribution system, replacement of branch panels and light fixtures at most buildings except 1, 2, and 3 where lamp and ballast replacements will be made, and the addition of walkway lighting, where required. Installation of new fire alarm, intercom, security, and telephone systems throughout the facility was included. Mechanical work included replacement of the obsolete air conditioning systems. Also included was the replacement of exhaust fans and other various upgrades throughout the campus to provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility. Interior work consisted of the demolition and refinishing of finishes, including casework. Many of these tasks were the result of the demolition required for the mechanical and electrical work. Exterior work included ramp additions at covered walkways to provide ADA accessibility. The scope of work also provided for the addition of windows to Buildings 7, 8, 9, and 11, replacement of window glazing beads at Buildings 1, 2, 3, and 10 and reroofing Building 10. Minor site work consisted of landscaping and correction of site drainage issues.
This change order provides credits for project savings and removal of items from the final punch list. Also included is the final reconciliation of the Direct Purchase Program. The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
