SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Howard & Associates Architects, P.A. and Kenyon & Partners, Inc. were selected from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services.
The scope of work provides for the reconfiguration of the parent drive to allow safe access to the school. This project was planned as a result of recommendations received from our District Safety Office and the county's Transportation Department. An overwhelming volume of parent traffic, unanticipated when the school was originally constructed, is severely impeding the flow of traffic through the parent loop. To avoid the congestion, parents park on the rights-of-way and walk students to the school, creating an unsafe condition. This project provides safer ingress/egress, increases the vehicular capacity and flow rate within the parent loop, and discourages parking on the rights-of-way.
Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the project. Completion is scheduled for August 17, 2007.
