Approve Teacher Training Instructors for Professional Study Day, August 14, 2007 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the attached list which contains the names of professional staff members in our School District who will plan and conduct training programs for teachers and other employees for Professional Study Day, August 14, 2007. Instruction includes subject areas within Middle and Secondary Education, Career and Technical Education, and Guidance Services.
In order to effectively provide the training, permission is requested to add and/or delete instructors’ names to the list as needed.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Critical Success Factor 1.a.3: Provide content area strategies training, coaching, mentoring, and support to all teachers with special emphasis on teachers who are working with students performing below grade level as stated in the K-12 Comprehensive Reading Plan (CRP).
Critical Success Factor 1.b.5: Ensure appropriately challenging placement for Level 3 – Level 5 students (such as accelerated courses and college-level courses).
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $45,000 are available from the Staff Development, budget, Projects 1380 and 4502.
EVALUATION
Participants are asked at the completion of their training to evaluate the presenter and the delivery of the content.
