SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Amendment #1 of the Contract with Early Childhood School Readiness Programs and Tampa Early Childhood Center at Luther Village (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

By virtue of this contract, Tampa Early Childhood Center at Luther Village delivers child care services to low-income families participating in the School Readiness Program. The term of the contract is July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008. Amendment #1 is written to correct floating holiday number 1. Originally, the provider mistakenly chose Sunday, August 19, 2007, instead of Friday, August 17, 2007, as a teacher work day.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The original total funding of $376,200 remains unchanged and will be utilized for the care of approximately 99 children from income-eligible families at the average annual rate of $3,800 per child.

EVALUATION

Each year the financial statements are audited by Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition as prescribed by law. The funding for Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is provided through federal dollars. The flow-through dollars are channeled by the Agency for Workforce Innovations. The School Readiness Program uses these funds to purchase child care in Hillsborough County. There is no district-generated revenue used for this purchase.
