Approve Articulation Agreements with Hillsborough Community College for Tech Prep Practical Nursing Postsecondary Programs at Brewster and Erwin Technical Centers (Career and Technical Education and Adult Technical Education)

We request approval of two new Articulation Agreements with Hillsborough Community College (HCC) for postsecondary students in the Practical Nursing Programs at Brewster and Erwin Technical Centers as follows:

• Postsecondary Practical Nursing Program allows students to earn 10 college credits toward an Associate in Science degree in the Nursing Program

For the past 15 years, the School District and HCC have worked collaboratively in implementing Tech Prep Programs of Study districtwide and collegewide. A major component has been the establishment of articulation agreements allowing district secondary and postsecondary students the opportunity to enter degree-seeking programs at the community college in an advanced status. Articulation agreements are continually updated to add new courses and update existing courses as appropriate.

Adult Technical training programs generate Workforce Education funds and are budgeted in the divisional general revenue budget. These articulation agreements have no additional cost to the district.
