APOLLO BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
RENOVATION
APPROVAL OF SCHEMATIC DESIGN PHASE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On February 13, 2007, the Board appointed John J. McKenna Architect P.A. and The Morganti Group, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The renovation of existing facilities includes upgrades to Clinic Room, restrooms, and door hardware to provide Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accessibility, upgrades to lighting, fire alarm, and signage to current standards, corridor work, general painting, and ceiling replacement throughout the campus, fire sprinklers for Building 1, and replacement of marker boards and cabinets where needed. Exterior work includes roof repair and maintenance, and ingress and egress improvements.

Approval of the schematic design phase will allow the architect to proceed with design development documents. Project completion is scheduled for December 2008.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The project is currently funded at $4,380,000. The estimate of probable cost is $4,350,000. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Construction 06-07.
