Focus on Student Achievement Update on Instructional Planning Tool (IPT)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Instructional Planning Tool (IPT), formerly known as Sagebrush, is entering year three within our district. Each year the application has been upgraded and enhanced based on the requests, needs, and suggestions of Hillsborough County Public School teachers and administrators. The main database section entitled “Viewpoint” allows those with appropriate credentials immediate access to a wide array of information. Available data consists of individual student, whole course, whole grade level, or whole school information. Classroom teachers can easily aggregate and / or disaggregate the most current demographic or assessment information available on their students, plus view a detailed history of patterns in achievement. Administrator's access provides the additional functionality of viewing whole school trends thus easily identifying areas of need and readily allowing for detailed focus on curriculum and instruction.
- Brenda Nolte, Principal of Burns Middle School, will speak to the Board regarding her use of the IPT.
- Jan Holden, IPT Project Manager, will provide a brief demonstration of some of the functionality of the IPT using a redacted (student information hidden) data set.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
