APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (CLASSROOMS FOR KIDS) - $72,081.87 EXTRA

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project was planned by the architectural firm of Abell Garcia Architects, P.A. On January 13, 2004, the Board appointed the construction management firm of R.J. Bunbury Company, Inc. On December 14, 2004, the Board approved an increase in the project’s initial scope to include the replacement of the existing food service facility identified in the Kitchen Assessment 2004 report prepared by Hinson and Associates. The scope of work provides for the replacement of the existing food service facility with a multi-purpose building and the addition of a two-story building with 12 primary classrooms.

Change Order No. 1 for the Multi-Purpose Building provides for Builders Risk insurance, new telephone system in Building 1, retention pond retaining wall, and storm drainage improvements. Change Order No. 1 for the Classrooms for Kids addition provides for Builders Risk insurance, new window in Room 108 of Building 1, access surface for fire trucks, change in paint for better surface adherence, and Administrative area revisions.

Provide adequate school facilities for the acccomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.
