Approve the Modification of the Transportation Fleet Manager Job Description from Pay Grade 34 to Salary Schedule X3
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On March 13, 2007, the School Board approved job descriptions for four transportation manager positions. This action was part of the reorganization process recommended in the Transportation Improvement Plan from Management Partnership Services (MPS). As noted in the plan, this is a dynamic process that will require modifications as it evolves. This agenda item is a recommendation to modify the job description of the Transportation Fleet Manager to Salary Schedule X3. This action will ensure that the transportation management team members are on comparable administrative salary schedules. This position will be responsible for maintaining a vehicle fleet that, as noted by MPS, is the equivalent of 7,100 standard sedans. The previous pay grade 34 position had a salary range of $42,524.24 to $78,571.68. The salary range for the X3 position is $57,400.64 to a maximum of $81,972.00. In addition to the salary schedule change, the job description "Class" of this position will change from Professional Technical to Managerial.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The expenses for this position are included in the Transportation salary budget.
