Approve Agreements for Technical Services for World Languages Curriculum Writing - $37,000 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the attached list of consultants to revise high school World Languages curriculum and exams to align with the new Sunshine State Standards and state textbook adoption for World Languages. In order to effectively complete the curriculum materials, permission is requested to add and/or delete consultants as needed not to exceed the budgeted amount of $37,000.

Curriculum and exams will be rewritten by the teachers experienced in the content area for the following subjects:

  • American Sign Language 1
  • Spanish 1
  • American Sign Language 2
  • Spanish 2
  • French 1
  • Spanish 3
  • French 2
  • Spanish 4
  • French 3
  • Spanish for Speakers 1
  • Latin 1
  • Spanish for Speakers 2
  • ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

    Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

    FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

    Funds of $37,000 are included in the Divisional Secondary Education Budget, Project 6204.
