Approve Educational Agreement with Ironworkers Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee for Postsecondary Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Program: Structural Steel, Aparicio-Levy Technical Center, 2007/2008 - $33,060 (Adult Technical Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the Educational Agreement with the Ironworkers Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) for a postsecondary registered pre-apprenticeship program in structural steel through Aparicio-Levy Technical Center. This program, new to the District, is a prerequisite to the Ironworker Apprenticeship Program for which we have had Educational Agreements for more than 15 years.
It is expected that 60 students will enroll in this pre-apprenticeship program during the 2007/2008 school year. Under this agreement, the JATC will be reimbursed for instructor wages only.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Workforce Education Funds of $33,060 will be budgeted to reimburse the JATC for instructor wages; the 2008/2009 Workforce Education allocation will reflect funding based on student performances in this program during 2007/2008.
