EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project is being planned by the engineering firm of Key Engineering Associates. The scope of work provides for water, wastewater, and drainage improvements at Caminiti Exceptional Center, and Dover, Egypt Lake, Grady, Knights, Lopez, Mango, and Trapnell Elementary Schools.
The project was advertised and one bid was received (see attachment). In the absence of multiple bids, District staff and the engineer evaluated detailed cost information provided by the single bidder to assess if the price was reasonable. The ensuing discussions with the bidder yielded a $54,000 reduction in price resulting from clarifications and value engineering modifications. The engineer indicates that the reduced price is reasonable for the work; therefore, the low bidder, U.S. Water Services, is recommended.
Project completion is scheduled for March 15, 2008.
