Accept Partnership Donation from Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Florida Education Technology Conference (FETC)

Hewlett-Packard (HP) and FETC will present a check in the amount of $15,000 to the Hillsborough County School Board in the spirit of partnership between Hillsborough County Public Schools, Hewlett Packard, United Data Technologies, and FETC. This is a prime example of a public - private alliance joining together to establish a win - win.

HP delivered to the FETC, at the Orlando Convention Center, 133 new "district standardized" computers purchased by Hillsborough Schools to be used by conference participants for email workshops and presentations.

FETC is the largest technology conference in the country attended by educators, administrators and technology corporations from around the world. More than 200 teachers from Hillsborough County attended the 2007 FETC conference.

After their five day use, the computers were  re-delivered by UDT, HP's small business partner, to the School District.  The Customer Service and Support Department distributed the computers to various site locations across Hillsborough County as part of the technology refresh initiative.

The School District in addition to the significant discounts already realized through the existing five year business technology partnership is receiving this $15,000 check from HP and FETC.
