Approve Contracts for External Reviewers for the Achievement Through Content Expertise (ACE) Project Grant

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Achievement Through Content Expertise (ACE) Project is a Mathematics grant from the state that began in January and will end at the end of August of this year (2007). The grant application has written into it funds for external reviews of the mathematics modules. Reviewers will appraise the value of the content and usefulness of the packet of materials developed by district personnel. Modules are for Geometry and Measurement, Number and Options, and Algebra at both the elementary and secondary level.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 2: The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT mathematics will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points. CSF 2.a - Assign high-performing teachers to teach student performing below grade level.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

These funds have been awarded to the district for the specific purpose.

EVALUATION

A critique of the modules developed will be submitted to the Department of Assessment and Accountability by September 30, 2007.
