Recognition of Various Awards Given to School Administrators
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Linda Geller, Principal of West Tampa Elementary School, received the 2006 Leonard Miller Principal Leadership Award from the Council for Educational Change.
Mary Cunningham, Principal of Ballast Point Elementary, received the “Council for Exceptional Children Administrator of the Year.”
Carla Bruning, Principal of King High School, and Tim Ducker, Principal of Mulrennan Middle School, received the “PTA Principals of the Year” award.
Hillsborough High School (Principal William Orr), King High School (Principal Carla Bruning), and Plant High School (Robert Nelson) were listed in Newsweek Top 100 High Schools in the Nation.
Lisa Yost, Principal of McKitrick Elementary School, was recognized by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the U. S. Department of Education as the “National Distinguished Elementary School Principal.”
Ruth Hall, Supervisor of Special Projects and Programs, was honored with Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA) Service Award.
Pat Smith, Director of Guidance, has been appointed as Chair of the Guidance and Admissions Assembly of the College Board and the Board of Trustees.
Linda Geller and Lisa Yost were recognized at previous meetings and will not be in attendance.
