Annual Employee Benefits Open Enrollment for 2008.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Annual Employee Benefits Open Enrollment for 2008 begins Wednesday, September 19, 2007 and ends Monday, October 15, 2007. This year the Open Enrollment period has been extended to 27 calendar days to allow our employees time to meet with professional benefits enrollment counselors from Univers, Inc. With the use of laptop computers during face-to-face meetings, the counselors will be able to access each employee’s current enrollment data, demonstrate the effects of election changes an employee is considering, and help the employee choose the election that best suits his situation. Employees should watch for information posted at their work sites informing them of the scheduled dates and times for their sites’ Univers enrollments (virtually every site will be scheduled). In addition, a copy of the master Univers enrollment schedule will be published on the District’s website.

Employees may also attend any of three Open Enrollment meetings, each of which will include a health fair. These meetings will be housed in the media centers of Armwood, Chamberlain, and Bloomingdale High Schools on October 3, October 6, and October 11, respectively. At these meetings employees can meet with the various benefits vendors, have their elections entered online, take the Humana Health Risk Assessment online, participate in the Humana Health Fair, and even get their annual flu shots.

Employees will have four ways to elect benefits: schedule meetings at their work sites to talk to enrollment counselors, call the Aon Call Center to have their elections entered for them, visit the web site at www.sdhc.selfservicenow.com to enter elections online, or attend one of the three Open Enrollment meetings with Health Fairs to get all their benefits questions answered and elections entered. Details concerning all 2008 Open Enrollment information will be distributed to employees prior to September 19, 2007. A supply of materials will be produced in Spanish, and Spanish-speaking enrollers will be available at selected sites as well as at the Open Enrollment meetings with Health Fairs.
