Approve the Contract Between the School District of Hillsborough County Early Childhood School Readiness Program and Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options Effective July 1, 2005 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options will deliver inclusion training and technical assistance to child care personnel, licensed family child care home operators, and licensed or license exempt child care center operators. Said training will promote a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children with special needs enrolled in child care facilities. The term of this contract begins on July 1, 2005 and continues through June 30, 2006. The State delayed its final determination of allocating funds, thereby postponing the execution of this contract by 30 days.This contract does not require legal review.

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The total of $45,000.00 is contracted from the Agency for Workforce Innovation – Office of Early Learning through the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, D/B/A/ Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, to the School District School Readiness Program. The School District School Readiness Program then contracts with Northside Mental Health Center for Care Options to provide the above described inclusion training to 75 Hillsborough County child care personnel and technical assistance at 50 facilities. This item is included in the district special review/federal programs budget and does not impact Part 1 of the budget.
