SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Payroll Schedules for 2005-2006 Fiscal Year (Business Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Payroll Schedules are relied upon for the issuance of compensation to District personnel. Payroll Schedules are based on the previously Board approved school calendar and the work calendars prepared by the Division of Human Resources.

The first payday for 10 month instructional personnel will be Friday, August 12, 2005, for an 8-day pay period. The 2005-2006 payroll schedules have been revamped due to the implementation of the Lawson system. Important points regarding these schedules include:

  • The pay periods reflect the Lawson required pay periods that will start on Sunday and end two weeks later on Saturday for all personnel.
  • Less than 12 month instructional employees ("A" payroll) will continue to be paid on biweekly Friday paydays, unless a scheduled Friday non-work day requires the payday to be an earlier date.
  • Less than 12 month non-instructional ("V" payroll) and 12 month ("P" and "R" payrolls) employees will be paid on the biweekly Friday paydays when instructional personnel are not scheduled to be paid.
  • Less than 12 month employees at Boyette Springs will be paid on the same payday schedule as the "A" payroll and will be referred to as the "B" payroll in Lawson.
  • Equalized pay information is provided for all permanent personnel ("A", "B", "P", "R" and "V" payrolls).
  • ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

    FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The estimated and actual financial impact of salaries and fringe benefits is provided to the Board on a monthly basis throughout the school year.
