Approve Contract with IBM Global Services for Lawson Post-Production Support Services for Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll (Information and Technology Division)

On December 14, 2004, the School Board approved the change authorization of the IBM Global Services Lawson implementation contract extending the "go-live" date for Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll to July 5, 2005. The contract also specified that IBM would complete post implementation support by July 17, 2005. This new support services contract, which is outside of the original services contract, is an agreement that with board approval will begin on July 20, 2005, and provide 42 days of additional IBM Global Services post go-live support for Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll. The agreement provides for IBM to staff the support with three "functional" consultants to provide a total of 848 hours of service. The complexity of Lawson Human Resources and Payroll, along with the lessons learned from "go-live" of Lawson financials and inventory in December 2003, clearly indicate that the District will need these additional hours of post go-live support.

2.b.12 Provide sufficient system capacity to efficiently respond to classroom and school needs in order to promote and support quality instructional performance and a professional environment conducive to high morale and teacher retention.

The estimated cost for IBM Global Services Lawson Post-Production support is $182,045 consisting of $158,300 for 848 hours of service plus actual travel and living costs incurred estimated at 15% of the total cost of services. Funding is from the District's technology budget, project 5002.
