EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project was planned by the architectural firm of FleischmanGarcia Architects. On March 12, 2002, the Board appointed the construction management firm of J.O. DeLotto & Sons, Inc. The scope of work provided for a new elevator, campus-wide HVAC upgrades, and campus-wide replacement of hardware, ductwork, hot water system, chilled water piping, restroom renovations for code compliance, renovation of all teacher planning areas, and stage floor repair, removal of all concrete benches and old radiators, and replacement of damaged vertical blinds. It also provided for millwork, floor finishes, toilet partitions/accessories, marker boards, handrails, metalwork, walkway canopies, and light fixtures, the installation of fire exit windows, new auditorium lighting and sound system, new gymnasium lighting, handrails, stage curtains, some cabinets and sinks, remodeling of the media center, childcare and administration/reception areas, restrooms in Building 5, nutritional food lab, food production lab, multi-purpose classroom, TV production studios/dark rooms, agriculture mechanical area, conversion of Room 151 into four classrooms, and conversion of toilets in Building 14 into a storage area. Site work included paving and striping of the parking lot, some sidewalk repair and fence replacement, drainage revisions, and additional sod in the courtyard.
This change order provides credits for the return of unused contingency funds and final reconciliation of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program.
The architect advises that the referenced project is substantially complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
