SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with IMPACTS for Business Etiquette and Leadership Training for Urban Teaching Academy (UTA) Students at Blake, Hillsborough, and Middleton High Schools (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
An Agreement for Technical Services has been developed with IMPACTS to provide 24 sessions to UTA students and teachers including First Impressions, The Art of Networking, Dress for Success, and Dine Like a Diplomat.
The UTA is a magnet high school program for students aspiring to become educators. IMPACTS staff will conduct training at the three UTA sites. Approximately 100 students and eight teachers will participate in 24 sessions March 10 through May 10, 2010. The objectives of the sessions are to increase participants’ knowledge of the standards and conduct appropriate for professional educators.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $14,970 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget through the Magnet Grant, Project 1833.
EVALUATION
In April 2010, students will participate in a hands-on tutorial to demonstrate the skills obtained from the training.
