Recognition of American Cancer Society Relay For Life Participation (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Over the past nine years, Hillsborough County Public Schools has become the largest contributor to Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising activity. This year, 104 schools participated collecting a total of $692,000. Not only does this make an enormous public relations impact within our community, but it also does the same for the fight against this insidious disease.

Relay For Life is an 18-hour event in which teams of 10 to 15 people collect donations prior to the event, pick a team theme, set up a camp site, and commit to having at least one person on the track at all times. Representatives of the American Cancer Society would like to recognize the District staff and students who have participated in this event.
