Proclaim the Month of April 2010 as “Child Abuse Prevention Month” in Hillsborough County (Student Services and Federal Programs Division )
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
President Ronald Reagan first declared the month of April “Child Abuse Prevention Month” in
1985. The Keeping Kids Safe Partnership and its Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign is a collaborative
effort of community members dedicated to improving child safety and well-being organized through
the leadership of the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. Together with this partnership, Hillsborough
County Public Schools is working to increase awareness of child abuse, how to stop it, and how to
prevent it in our district. Through collaborative efforts among neighbors, community groups, faith-based organizations, schools, businesses, law enforcement, the courts, and government agencies in Hillsborough County, we hope to value, nurture, support, and advocate for our children and their well-being.
