Approval Renewal Contract for Full Service Schools with the State of Florida, Department of Health (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This multi-year contract renewal is in effect July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. Its purpose is to expand health services and increase access to health care in high poverty areas. The Full Service School funds provide health services to designated schools (Desoto, Just, Oak Park, Palm River, and Sulphur Springs Elementary Schools and Dowdell Middle School) in our district. This is an annual renewal of flow-through funds from the Hillsborough County Health Department.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds in the amount of $1,268,316 are provided by the Legislature from general revenue and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) federal dollars in specific line items for Full Service Schools (yearly amount $422,772). This contract and the services are based on the availability of funds.
EVALUATION
Annual reports are submitted to the State of Florida, Department of Health. These reports contain data regarding student, parent, and school district employee encounters.
