EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) identifies academically talented seventh-grade students based on standardized test scores. These students were invited to complete either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). These tests are the same college admissions exams administered to high school juniors and seniors. Seventh-grade students who score in the top 3% in the nation on the ACT or SAT receive National Grand Level Recognition and are invited to a ceremony at Duke University. This year, 67,389 seventh graders nationwide participated in TIP and 1,903 earned recognition as National Grand Level Honorees.
In Hillsborough District, there were 1,654 seventh-grade students who participated in the Duke Talent Identification Program and 10 students scored high enough on the SAT or ACT to receive National Grand Level recognition.
