SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Disposal of Eleven Surplus or Damaged Vehicles from the Fleet Maintenance Section of the Transportation Department

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Attached is a list of surplus and/or damaged vehicles to be considered for disposal. We recommend that the vehicles be sold at public auction using the services of Tampa Machinery Auction or sold for scrap if no bid can be obtained. The vehicles were evaluated, and it was determined that repair costs exceeded their current value. Copies of the inspection forms are on file at the Transportation Department and are available upon request.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)

The District will receive approximately 90% of the sale price of the vehicles and equipment. The auctioneer will retain approximately 10%.
