SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Contractual Agreements with Carlton Palms Educational Center, Inc., for Students with Disabilities, 2010/2011 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the agreements for the Florida Department of Children and Families to place a 16 year old student (A.O.) and a 21 year old student (A.W.) with a primary exceptionality of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a 19 year old student (J.G.) with a primary exceptionality of Intellectual Disability at the Carlton Palms Educational Center, Inc., due to significant behavior/physical control problems. The primary emphasis of these placements is comprehensive assessment and the development of effective behavior management strategies. Placements are projected for the 2010/2011 school year.
The district is responsible for the assurance of the provision of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services for the duration of these placements. The full-time equivalent (FTE) generated for the 2010/2011 school year has been calculated based on the Base Student Allocation for Hillsborough County and the Matrix of Services developed for each student.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds generated from the FEFP/FTE in the amount of $12,949.07 represent the estimated total educational cost per student for a total cost of $38,847.21 and are included in the divisional general operating budget.
