Three years ago the Facilities Division, Safety Office, and Athletics Department reviewed criteria by which installation of synthetic athletic fields would be considered. (See attached information) Plant High School is one of the three schools that meets the criteria.

The Plant High School Athletic Foundation has been working with the staff of Plant High School to improve the existing conditions of the football field. The Foundation has raised sufficient funds to install a synthetic athletic turf field and will hire a private contractor to design and install the field. The contractor will submit all construction documents to the Florida Building Code Manager for review and permitting.

Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding will enable the improvement of the athletic field to move forward in a timely manner. The Memorandum of Understanding has been reviewed by the School Board attorney as to form and sufficiency.

Plant High School Athletic Foundation has raised sufficient funds to complete all design and construction for the installation of the synthetic athletic turf field.
